This two-seat sofa is from the Florence Knoll Lounge Collection. Florence Knoll is one of America's most important and influential designers. Over the course of her distinguished career, she has made countless contributions to architecture and interior design. After studying architecture at Cranbrook Academy of Arts in Michigan, she worked with Bauhaus head Walter Gropius, the legendary Marcel Breuer, and Wallace Harrison.
Florence Knoll's influence on other contemporary designers cannot be underestimated. Though other designers are frequently attributed with the final product, she collaborated on many famous furniture projects. Her association with such modern classic masters includes Isamu Noguchi, Eero Saarinen, and Charles Eames.
