The Banana Bentwood Chair, sometimes referred to as the Melnikov Cafe Chair, has become one of the most omnipresent designs of bentwood seen around the world. Its sturdy construction, comfortable curved back, and wide range of colors make it popular in homes, restaurants, and cafes worldwide.
The Banana Bentwood Chair is constructed by one of the first bentwood chair factories set up by Michael Thonet in the 1800s. The factory has been in continuous operation since its inception in 1861. It is now just one of a handful of original bentwood factories still in operation.
