Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg Chair in 1958 for the lobby and reception areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Arne Jacobsen actually developed the shell of the Egg Chair in the garage of his home. The Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair is another example of the movement in design to adapt more organic forms into our living spaces. The Egg Chair continues to be one of Arne Jacobsen's most popular designs, mixing organic forms along with comfort.
This high-quality reproduction is constructed with polyurethane foam with fiberglass reinforcement. The shell has an adjustable tilt which can be adjusted to the weight of the individual user. The base consists of a satin-polished, welded steel tube and a 4-star base in cast molded aluminum.
