The Saarinen Tulip Table was introduced to the world in New York City in 1958. This was the culmination of three years of effort by Eero Saarinen to rid interiors of the “slum of legs”. The introduction of the table was not the stopping point for this effort. Eero Saarinen would go on to develop a variety of other tables, chairs, and even an ashtray around the pedestal base.
Born in Finland, Saarinen was heavily influenced by his father, Eliel, who was designed as well. During his career, Saarinen designed some of the most notable buildings and monuments in America. Ranging from airports and corporate centers to schools and monuments, his abilities as an architect were far-ranging.
Our Saarinen tables are a masterful reproduction of the original Saarinen table. Absolute attention is paid to the workmanship of the stone and base creating a modern classic meant to last for years. The table base is available in matte white or black, glossy white or black, or matte silver. The top is available in a wide variety of marbles and laminates, including the ever-popular white Arabescato and black Marquina. Add this beautiful piece of Saarinen furniture to your home today.
This Saarinen Table has a lacquered cast aluminum base in white, black, or silver. The Saarinen table base is treated with a clear protective finish to resist scratches, stains, and scuffs. Saarinen table stone tops are sealed and protected with a natural wax finish.
